Pardon the bluntness: I believe in a living God. 

Why am I coming out and saying that? I’ve been thinking a lot about this sweet little girl today. Daisy, daughter to our Pastor Britt Merrick, has been diagnosed with cancer twice before the age of 7. And yesterday was number 3.

Luke 18:17 says: “Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” (Message translation)

I think this video shows us just what that means. Here’s Daisy singing on her way to the hospital this morning. Just LOOKat that faith! Here I am, feeling overwhelmed by the meager details of my week. But on this day, Good Friday, she reminded me that the lasting power of schedules, deadlines and cancer all crumbled two thousand years ago. They lost their power when Jesus said “it is finished.” John 19:30

So thank you, Daisy. Thank you for reminding me of the everlasting hope we have. You’re right—that hope is greater than our present circumstances.
